Regatta Bay and Emerald Bay golf courses of Destin, Florida are hosts for the “9th Annual Destin/St Jude Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament,” produced by Emerald Coast Media for the Sun Sports and the St Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. This hospital, founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, offers care to all children, regardless of age, race, or ability to pay. It is also a leading research center against childhood diseases. For more information about St Jude Children’s Hospital, go to www.StJude.org.
“This production was first of its kind for Emerald Coast Media” says its director, RJ Murdock. “We had three film crews to cover two golf courses for two days.” The crew consisted of local production professionals as well as interns. “We worked hand-in-hand with a producer from the Sun Sports to ensure we met their boradcast standards of quality.” The host of the program was Dave Lamont, a television and radio sports commentator from Ft Lauderdale, FL and a long-time participant in past St Jude golf tournament shows. “Dave was wonderful” says RJ, “we really banked on his experience with past productions and his expertise in recognizing and interacting with all the sport celebrities that participate in this event.” These celebrities included baseball’s Hall of Famer Bill Mazeroski, World Series MPV Mark Lemke, and 3rd baseman Chipper Jones of the Atlanta Braves.
